Who We Are
It is our mission to help our clients improve recruitment, retention and gender equity by helping them meet the changing realities of working fathers.

Our founder, Cameron Phillips.
Cameron has spent the past five years researching and developing programs to help businesses improve their recruitment, retention and workplace gender equity by helping them understand and adapt to the vastly different needs and challenges of today’s working fathers. Cameron has worked for corporate clients like Canada’s largest credit union, Vancity Savings, and the world’s largest on-line distributor of glasses and contact lenses, Clearly Contacts. He has presented to groups like video game giant, Electronic Arts (EA) and at the prestigious Ivey School of Business. His cutting edge work has garnered him an invitation to speak at the world’s second largest HR conference in Toronto in 2013, and has made him the subject of much media attention, including CBC’s “The National”, The Toronto Sun, and Today’s Parent Magazine. His most recent publication, “Men’s Work Life Balance: A Working Father’s Perspective” received national and international attention, including a one-hour feature on the nationally syndicated American program, “The Leslie Marshall Show.” His public speaking skills have been sought by Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the NBA for over a decade. Cameron also co-hosted the daily national Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Radio program “Freestyle” for two years.
First and foremost, however, Cameron is a passionate father of two beautiful sons—Connor, 6 and Nathan, 2. Shortly after becoming a dad and taking on a new mortgage, Cameron lost a well-paying job. It was through this challenging transition that he began to examine the narrow definition of “provider.” By expanding this definition to include what men need to do to truly provide for themselves, their families and their employers, Cameron created Bettermen Solutions.
